In a dev note, EA acknowledges “ how big that adjustment is for players, but we are confident that a more realistic movement system… is what’s best for our players…” Nonetheless, the team is still working to improve some aspects of player movement according to feedback.Īnother whole section of the dev notes is dedicated to Madden’s Franchise mode, which is one of the game’s oldest and most popular game modes, as well as one of its least perfect ones. Many points of contention seem to be due to the development team making the game more realistic, a good example being player movement, which received feedback that was “ almost evenly split between like and dislike.” As of last year, EA uses NFL Next Gen Stats to help create Madden’s AI and ratings, culminating in what is referred to as “ Next Gen Player Movement…” which will only be available on next-gen consoles.
The game received an “ outpouring of feedback” according to EA via the most recent Gridiron Notes on Madden 22, and there are a lot of fixes that are planned for the game prior to its launch in a couple of weeks.

This year, EA has been very transparent about the development process of Madden 22, continuously informing its fans about recent changes to the project, some of which include new crowd animations and dynamic gameplay. Madden has consistently tried to improve the series’ accuracy in an attempt to mimic the true NFL experience while still implementing mechanics and features that make the game fun and accessible for players.
#Madden 22 release date upgrade
Every year, Madden gets a graphical upgrade and plenty of new features and improvements, and in recent years, EA has been doing its best to make these changes based on player feedback. While we’re on the subject, see who we think will be the Madden 22 cover athlete this year.EA Sports has released a list of changes that are coming to Madden NFL 22 prior to its August 20 release date based on player feedback. So, while Madden typically releases their games earlier in the month, don’t be surprised to see this one gets pushed back towards the end of the month due to the pandemic. So much so that we even saw MLB The Show 21 launch a few weeks after the MLB’s official Opening Day of the season. The truth of the matter is that COVID-19 has slowed all game development projects drastically in 20. The date typically falls earlier in the month, but don’t be shocked if EA must revise their schedule due to the pandemic.
Following this theory, we should expect Madden 22 to release between August 20th and August 27th of this year. With the last three versions coming out on a Friday. I wouldn’t necessarily count on it, though, as outside of the releases in 20, all of the recent Madden games have launched closer to the end of the month.
However, we could see this launch date revert to normal this year, meaning that the game could be released much earlier in the month. The release date last year was delayed several weeks before the official launch (August 28th). AKA, peak NFL-hype season.ĭue to the release of next-gen consoles in 2020, the release date for Madden 21 fell slightly out of sync compared to their PS4/Xbox One counterparts. Even with no official date, it seems like a pretty safe bet that EA will once again target this time frame, especially since it aligns perfectly with the end of NFL training camps and the start of preseason football. The last several iterations of the global game have typically launched in early-mid August. EA has not released any details outlining the official release date for Madden 22, though based on years in the past, the official launch should be right around the corner.
